In New Brunswick, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in New Jersey, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Didn't expect to have so much variety. I really loved their tropical and desert sections.

If you're interested in seeing rare tropical plants, unusual cacti, carnivorous plants, this is a local GEM. It's also really cool to see fully grown plants you usually only see in small pots around. Great spot to visit. We bought some plants there on Rutgers Day.

Very cool place to visit. Free but closes at 2. And they have cats and poison dart frogs.
